As we don't live anywhere where they designate Saturday as Trick or Treat day when Halloween falls on Sunday, we had to get creative this year. We talked with the kids about other ways we could celebrate without going door to door as we had originally planned.
Our compromise: Carving the Pumpkin, Trick or Treating to the different bedrooms in the house. Then a Halloween Party on mom and dad's bed all dressed up with Pumpkins full of candy and a picnic for dinner while watching Funniest Home Videos followed by the Amazing Race. I was worried the Dylan would have a really hard time with this as he was most looking forward to going out this year. He handled it amazingly well and even told us more times than I can count how much fun it had been that night.
Don't believe me well here's some happy pictures to prove that they did have fun, with a non-traditional Halloween Celebration.
For Carter's school party I'd bought black hair spray. By the time it was party time some of it had brush? out and he was almost kinda blackish gray? The label on the bottle says not to use it on blond hair we were a little nervous, but figured he's a boy and its sure to come out eventually. We need not have worried. It all came out. Enough that we sprayed it again for our "Home Halloween Party"
Happy Halloween!
That is amazing how black hair could change Carter's look. They looked great. We sure miss you guys. We could have partied together.
ReplyDeleteThe comment was from Michelle and Rebecca. We didn't realize we were on under Brett. Oops!
ReplyDeleteYou guys didn't miss out on anything--this party looked so much more fun than trick-or-treating!
